Welcome This site is dedicated to the memory of my father, Gary Edmund Walk, who died in November 2009. His great-grandfather Victor Walk Sr, emigrated from Alsace (part of Germany at the time) to Ohio County, West Virginia in 1883 to apply his trade as a glass-blower in the emerging glass industry in America. Walkgenealogy.us was started in an effort to provide a centralized location for collecting and storing Walk/Walsch family documents, photos, and stories. All contributions are welcome. My hope is to provide a forum for publishing family history documents, and hopefully unlock some mysteries in the Walk/Walsch family line. I am particularly interested in anything before 1883 when the family name appears to have been changed from Walsch to Walk. |
